How do I Know my admission in IMSU is Legit

Every legit Imo State University admission must be recognized by JAMB, including every other Nigerian higher institutions.

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has created an online portal where every candidates from every higher institution can check if their admission is recognized.

The portal in which JAMB created is known as JAMB matriculation list. It is very important that all candidates should confirm their names on the matriculation list. Only candidates whose names are on this list are recognized as bonafide students from the various accredited institutions including Imo State University, Owerri.

By implication, if your name is not on the JAMB matriculation list, your application to NYSC scheme for the one-year National service shall be declined. That is you can never be mobilized for NYSC.

How to check your name on JAMB matriculation list

Steps

1. Open a web browser on your phone or PC
2. Type in the portal address or click on it, which is www.portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility/checkmatriculationlist
3. Once it opens, kindly scroll down and select your jamb examination year and enter your Jamb registration number on the space provided below.
4. Click on fetch my details.

After the above steps you will get any of the responses below

• If it says congratulations your name is on the matriculation list with your school name and the course you are studying, you are good to go. This means you have no issue and your admission in IMSU is legit.

Note; Make sure its showing your school name and your department/course of study. If is says congratulations your name is on the matriculation list with another school or course that differ from the one you are studying, this calls for what is known as JAMB regularization. You need to regularize your admission to enable you correct your details on the matriculation list; here your admission is legit.

• If it says sorry your name is not on the matriculation list, kindly correct this issue by printing your admission letter and original result. Your admission here is still legit but its so because you didn’t complete JAMB requirement during the time you got admission.

• If is says sorry you were no offered admission, pops up an error message or doesn’t say anything at all, its a total red flag for you. If you are in this category, that means your admission is not legit (Faculty Admission)
