Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Post UTME/DE Screening Modalities and Procedures for 2026/2027 Academic Session
Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, IAUE, has approved a rescheduled date for the 2026/2027 screening exercise for UTME and Direct Entry candidates.
The screening exercise, earlier scheduled to start on Monday, 22 June 2026, will now begin on Monday, 29 June 2026.
Why has IAUE rescheduled the screening exercise?
The University Management approved the new date to allow UTME candidates to print their JAMB result slip with candidate ranking visible, along with other required documents.
All UTME candidates are advised to visit the JAMB portal and reprint their result slip, since the slip will be required during the screening exercise.
When will IAUE screening invitations be sent?
UTME and Direct Entry candidates should check their email addresses and phone numbers from Monday, 22 June 2026 for personalised screening invitations.
Candidates should also check their spam folders regularly.
The invitation will contain each candidate’s Faculty, Department, time, date, venue, batch and screening requirements.
When and where will the IAUE screening hold?
The screening exercise will commence on Monday, 29 June 2026.
The venue is the Information and Communications Technology Centre, ICTC, Rumuolumeni Campus, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Screening will begin at 9 a.m. daily, while biometric verification will begin at 8 a.m. daily.
What are the IAUE screening modalities?
The 2026/2027 screening modalities are:
- Compulsory biometric validation exercise
- O’level or A’level certificate verification
- Data screening
- Score ranking
The University states that the modalities remain as earlier outlined in Memo IAUE/REG/152/VOL.II/101.
Will IAUE conduct a Post-UTME test?
A Post-UTME test is not required.
JAMB UTME score will be used as the 100% criterion to rank candidates and the ranking means candidates must have the required UTME and O’level combinations as stated in the JAMB Integrated Brochure and Syllabus System, IBASS.
Candidates must also meet the departmental cut-off point, which will be released soon.
What happens if a candidate scores high but does not rank well?
Candidates who score high in the JAMB UTME but do not rank well may receive a change-of-course notice.
The change will allow the Admissions Unit to process the admission within a proper ranking category and affected candidates should monitor the JAMB portal for the required action.
How will Direct Entry candidates be screened?
Direct Entry candidates will be screened with their uploaded documents.
They should ensure that their certificates are verified on the Nigerian Integrated Post-Secondary Data System, NIPEDS and they should also present the required A’level result during the physical screening exercise.
What data will IAUE screen for admission processing?
The University will screen and verify UTME and Direct Entry candidates’ data provided through the JAMB Central Admission Processing System, CAPS.
The same data has also been uploaded to the University portal and it will be used for admission processing.
What documents are required for IAUE screening?
Candidates are required to appear in person for compulsory biometric verification.
They should attend with the following:
- JAMB result slip
- O’level result, WAEC, NECO or NABTEB
- Post-UTME registration slip from the University portal
- Printout of the invitation sent to the candidate’s email address
Direct Entry candidates must present their A’level result, which may include NCE, ND, NABTEB, JUPEB, IJMB, NABTEB ANBC, NABTEB ANTC, HND, First Degree, IBN, Cambridge A’level or International GCE A-level.
What conduct is expected during screening?
Candidates must be neatly and properly dressed and hair must be well groomed.
Ill-behaviour will attract automatic disqualification.
What should all candidates do after receiving screening details?
Candidates are advised to monitor their admission status online on the JAMB portal, since some candidates may be required to make changes within a given period.
The changes may include:
- Change of course on the JAMB portal for proper ranking
- Data corrections within the period stated by the University
Affected candidates will be notified through secure text message or email notification.
How should candidates confirm notices and avoid scams?
Candidates, parents and guardians should confirm all information on the University’s website and social media pages.
The University states that it will not be responsible for any act of deception or scam where the stated advice is ignored and candidates should rely on the personal phone numbers and active email addresses used during registration.
The University portal does not allow duplicate phone numbers or duplicate email addresses.
What should candidates with awaiting O’level or A’level results do?
Candidates with awaiting O’level or A’level results are advised to upload their results online as soon as the results become available.
They should also visit the Admissions Unit immediately for physical screening.
Direct Entry candidates with A’level results should ensure that their results are verified on NIPEDS after upload.
Where can candidates read the official IAUE notice?
Candidates may read more through the IAUE screening modalities notice.
They should keep checking their email, spam folder, phone messages, the University website and approved social media pages for updates tied to their own screening schedule.
