Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila (AUSU) Accredited Programmes: Full List of 11 Courses Approved by NUC in 2025
Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila (AUSU), Kano State, has announced that the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full accreditation to 11 academic programmes.
The approval followed the accreditation exercise carried out in November and December 2025. According to the NUC report, the programmes were assessed under the Core Curriculum and Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS), with attention given to curriculum content, academic staff quality, physical facilities, library resources, and employers’ rating.
AUSU full accreditation update
The new NUC decision covers 11 programmes across the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences, and the Faculty of Science and Computing.
The Management said the result reflects the work of its academic and administrative staff; it also stated that all accredited programmes now have full recognition for five years.

The programmes with full accreditation are listed under three faculties.
Faculty of Health Sciences
The following programmes got full accreditation:
- Community Health Science
- Nursing Science
- Public Health
Faculty of Arts, Social and Management Sciences
The following programmes got full accreditation:
- Shari’ah
- Criminology and Security Studies
- International Relations
- Sociology
Faculty of Science and Computing
The following programmes got full accreditation:
- Biology
- Biotechnology
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
What the NUC assessed
According to the report, the NUC used CCMAS in the assessment of the programmes.
The review focused on curriculum content, quality of academic staff, physical facilities, library resources, and employers’ rating. Those were the key areas considered during the exercise.

What this means for AUSU programmes
With this update, all the listed programmes have full accreditation status for five years.
