Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, has invited suitably qualified candidates to apply for admission into its Professional Diploma in Education programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The programme is a one-year course for candidates who seek teaching preparation for technical colleges, polytechnics, senior secondary schools and commercial schools.
What Is the FCET Asaba PDE Programme?
The Professional Diploma in Education at Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, is a one-year course for candidates with technical or commercial qualifications.
The course has been designed for persons who already have relevant qualifications and at least two years of professional, industrial or teaching experience.
Who Can Apply for FCET Asaba PDE Admission?
Candidates may apply where they have a recognised university degree or professional qualification in a relevant field.
Applicants with Higher National Diploma qualifications may also apply, provided the qualification is relevant to the programme.
Which HND Fields Are Accepted?
Applicants with HND qualifications may apply from the following fields:
- Building
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Accountancy
- Secretarial Studies
- Business Administration
- Agricultural Science
- Home Economics
- Fine and Applied Arts
Candidates should ensure that their qualification matches the teaching area they intend to support through the PDE route.
What Other Qualifications Are Accepted?
Candidates may also be considered where they have any of the following qualifications:
- Federal Government-approved Certificate in Secretarial Studies, with Shorthand and Typewriting at 100/50 W.P.M.
- WAEC or GCE O’Level with passes in at least five subjects, including English Language
- WAEC Technical Advanced Certificate
- City and Guild Final Certificate
- Full Technological Certificate from the City and Guild of London Institute in Building, Electrical/Electronics or Mechanical Trades
- Any other technical or commercial qualification accepted for the programme
Applicants using Secretarial Studies certification should confirm that the stated shorthand and typewriting speed requirement has been met.
What Experience Is Required?
Candidates are expected to have at least two years of professional, industrial or teaching experience.
This experience requirement applies to candidates with established technical or commercial qualifications who seek admission into the PDE programme.
How Much Is the FCET Asaba PDE Application Fee?
The application fee is N4,000.
The fee is non-refundable and will be paid through a bank transaction handled through the Bursary Office.
How Can Candidates Apply for FCET Asaba PDE Admission?
Candidates are to pay the non-refundable N4,000 application fee through the Bursary Office.
After payment, candidates should proceed to the Degree Unit with the blue receipt to collect the official admission form.
The application process will be completed as follows:
- Pay N4,000 through a bank transaction via the Bursary Office.
- Collect the blue receipt as proof of payment.
- Take the blue receipt to the Degree Unit.
- Collect the PDE admission form.
- Fill the form with correct personal, academic and work experience details.
- Submit the completed form to the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Admissions).
Candidates should keep the blue receipt safe, since form collection will depend on it.
When Is the Submission Deadline?
Completed application forms should be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Admissions) at Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba.
Submission should be made before the matriculation ceremony for the 2026/2027 academic session begins.

An HND holder applying through Mechanical Engineering, for example, should ensure that the HND record and experience details are correctly stated on the form.
