Students Line Streets in Owerri to Welcome President Tinubu During Working Visit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was warmly welcomed by students and community groups in Owerri during his working visit to Imo State, where he commissioned major projects and praised Governor Uzodinma’s efforts in infrastructure, digital innovation, and economic development.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received a festive reception in Owerri, Imo State, as hundreds of primary and secondary school students, dressed in their uniforms, lined the roads waving flags and singing to welcome him during his official visit. They were joined by cultural dancers, women’s groups, and youth organizations, creating a vibrant, celebratory atmosphere.
The President’s visit marked the commissioning of several major projects completed under Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration, including the renovated Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel, the Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, the Asumpta Flyover, and the Imo Digital Learning Centre.
Governor Uzodinma also highlighted new digital and tech initiatives—such as MylmoApp, the Imo Digital City, and SkillUplmo Techosphere—aimed at equipping thousands of youths with digital skills and employment opportunities.
President Tinubu praised the state’s progress, particularly the development of the Orashi Free Trade Zone, which is expected to attract investors and create jobs. The large turnout from students and community groups reflected optimism and support for the ongoing collaboration between the federal and state governments to drive development in the region.
