UNIMAID announces Christmas and New Year holidays
The University of Maiduguri has announced the schedule for the upcoming public holidays marking the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In a circular issued by the Office of the Registrar, dated Tuesday, 23rd December, 2025, the university community is informed of the public holidays declared by the Federal Government.
The holiday schedule is as follows:
· Christmas/Boxing Day Holidays:
· Public Holidays: Thursday, 25th and Friday, 26th December, 2025.
· University Offices will close at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 24th December, 2025.
· Resumption: Offices will re-open on Monday, 29th December, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
· New Year Holiday:
· Public Holiday: Thursday, 1st January, 2026.
· University Offices will close at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 31st December, 2025.
· Resumption: Offices will re-open on Friday, 2nd January, 2026.
The circular, signed by Mrs. Amina M. Abdullahi, Director of Human Resources, confirms that essential services will be maintained throughout the holiday period to ensure the smooth running of the university.
The notice is addressed to all members of staff and students, with a copy sent to the Vice-Chancellor.
